Two custom WordPress education websites and three Shopify stores launched by Konekt in August 2026. Here is a closer look at the strategy and features behind each build.
August’s launches show the range of work moving through the Konekt team. This edition of our Launch Roundup brings together two custom WordPress websites for leading education institutions and three Shopify stores for established Sri Lankan retail brands. Each was designed around a different audience, journey and business goal.
From helping parents explore an international school network and guiding educators towards recognised qualifications, to taking a Sri Lankan fashion retailer global and making product discovery more interactive, these launches go well beyond simply putting information or products online.
Here is what Konekt shipped in August 2026.
1. Gateway College — One Digital Home for a Six-School Network (gatewaycollege.lk)

The institution: Gateway College is a leading network of international schools in Sri Lanka, with campuses in Colombo, Kandy, Negombo, Dehiwala, Ratmalana and Malabe. Its learning experience combines personalised teaching with internationally recognised qualifications from the United Kingdom and Australia.
The build: Konekt designed and developed a custom WordPress website that brings the entire school network together while helping each campus remain easy to discover. WordPress gives the Gateway team a flexible content-management foundation for maintaining campus information, curriculum resources, news and updates. Parents and students can explore individual school locations, learn about facilities and school structure, access admissions information, and keep up with news from across the network. An interactive curriculum experience, supported by a video guide and resources for parents, turns a complex academic offering into a clear, engaging journey. The site also brings Gateway’s partnerships, annual reviews, co-curricular experience and contact information into a responsive platform built for prospective and current families.
Highlights:
- Dedicated discovery pages for all six Gateway College campuses
- Interactive curriculum experience with a supporting video guide
- Clear access to admissions, facilities, school structure and parent resources
- Central news and updates hub for achievements and school activity
- Mobile-responsive experience for parents and students
- Flexible WordPress content management for the Gateway team
2. Gateway Graduate School — Clearer Pathways for Future Educators (gatewaygraduateschool.com)

The institution: Gateway Graduate School is recognised by Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Education as a degree-awarding institute. Since 2011, it has trained more than 2,000 education professionals through programmes and academic partnerships involving Pearson, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Certiport and Flinders University.
The build: Konekt created a custom WordPress website structured around programme discovery and progression. Prospective students can quickly compare pathways in Early Childhood Education, Primary and Secondary Education, the Bachelor of Education (Honours), the Master of Education and professional development. Each journey connects visitors to practical learning opportunities, international qualifications and flexible routes to further study in Australia. Prominent intake and “Apply Now” calls to action reduce friction between researching a programme and taking the next step, while the WordPress content-management system enables the institution to keep programmes, intakes, news and events current.
Highlights:
- Programme-led navigation across undergraduate, postgraduate and professional pathways
- Clear presentation of international academic partners and recognition
- Dedicated application calls to action throughout the student journey
- Content covering practice-based learning within the Gateway school network
- Integrated news and events for educators and prospective students
- WordPress-based content management for programmes, intakes and updates
3. Thilakawardhana Global — Taking a Sri Lankan Fashion Name to International Shoppers (global.thilakawardhana.com)

The brand: Thilakawardhana is a trusted Sri Lankan fashion and lifestyle retailer with a history spanning more than three decades. Thilakawardhana Global extends that retail presence to international shoppers through a dedicated storefront that ships from Sri Lanka.
The build: Konekt designed and developed a Shopify store for international shopping, built around discovery, styling and confidence. The storefront supports international market and currency selection, presents prices in US dollars for its US market, and organises fashion across women, men, kids, teen and maternity collections. Beyond standard category browsing, shoppers can discover products by occasion or colour, use a style finder, explore complete “Shop the Look” outfits, and build an outfit by combining pieces before purchasing. Trust signals such as quality checks before dispatch, secure payments and customer feedback support shoppers buying from overseas.
Highlights:
- Dedicated global storefront with market and currency selection
- “Shop by Occasion” and “Explore by Color” discovery journeys
- Guided style finder based on fit and clothing preference
- “Shop the Look” and interactive outfit-building experiences
- International trust messaging, customer feedback and secure checkout
- Shopify foundation for international e-commerce and scalable catalogue management
4. PolarSun — A More Confident Way to Buy Sunglasses Online (polarsun.lk)

The brand: PolarSun is a Sri Lankan eyewear brand backed by more than 20 years of trust through Vision Care. Its range combines polarised lens technology and UV400 protection with everyday styles for driving, travel, leisure and sport.
The build: Konekt built the Shopify store around a common challenge in online eyewear shopping: choosing a frame without trying it on. A virtual try-on experience lets shoppers preview sunglasses online, while face-shape navigation helps narrow the range for round, heart, square, oval, diamond and long faces. Collection-led browsing, a visual lens comparison and clearly presented protection, warranty, delivery and instalment-payment information help customers move from discovery to purchase with greater confidence.
Highlights:
- Virtual try-on experience for online frame selection
- Sunglasses discovery by face shape, gender and collection
- Visual before-and-after demonstration of polarised lenses
- Clear UV400 protection and six-month warranty messaging
- KOKO instalments, free islandwide shipping and mobile-friendly checkout
- Shopify-based product and collection management
5. Rainco — A Modern Online Store for Everyday Sri Lankan Essentials (shop.rainco.lk)

The brand: Rainco is a familiar Sri Lankan name with more than 40 years of craftsmanship. Its range extends beyond umbrellas and rainwear to mosquito nets, stationery, shoe and foot care, lunch boxes, bags and other everyday products.
The build: Konekt transformed that broad portfolio into a clean, category-led Shopify store. Customers can move directly into focused collections for umbrellas, rainwear, mosquito protection, stationery, shoe care, foot care, lunch boxes and bags, while “New Arrivals” and “Best Sellers” make frequently changing products easier to find. The new store supports secure checkout, customer accounts, fast islandwide delivery with real-time order tracking, and clear access to support, shipping and returns information.
Highlights:
- Structured navigation for a wide, multi-category product range
- Dedicated “New Arrivals” and “Best Sellers” merchandising
- Customer accounts, search and streamlined cart experience
- Fast islandwide delivery with real-time order tracking
- Secure checkout and accessible post-purchase support information
- Shopify-based catalogue and order-management foundation
Five Launches, Five Different Digital Journeys
The strongest website is not defined by a single platform or feature list. It is defined by how well it helps the right audience complete the right journey.
For Gateway College, that means helping families understand a six-school network and its curriculum. For Gateway Graduate School, it means turning qualifications and international pathways into confident applications. For Thilakawardhana Global, PolarSun and Rainco, it means making product discovery more relevant, trustworthy and convenient for each brand’s customers.
Across education and retail, Konekt designs, develops and supports digital platforms built around real business goals. These August launches demonstrate that breadth through two custom WordPress education websites and three Shopify stores—from content strategy and user experience to e-commerce, integrations and ongoing optimisation.
