Overview
Fashion Bug is one of Sri Lanka's leading fashion retailers, offering clothing, accessories, beauty products, toys, and lifestyle products through an extensive retail network and online store. As the business expanded, they required a scalable e-commerce platform that could streamline online operations, improve customer experience, and automate backend processes.
Konekt led the migration to Shopify and built a set of custom integrations — spanning delivery fulfillment, inventory reporting, and payment reconciliation — to give Fashion Bug's team the tools to manage a large, fast-moving product catalog without adding operational overhead.
The challenge
Fashion Bug's previous setup created friction across the order lifecycle:
- Legacy e-commerce limitations — the existing platform lacked the flexibility needed to support growing online sales, digital marketing initiatives, and evolving customer expectations.
- Manual delivery fulfillment — order fulfillment required significant manual coordination between the e-commerce platform and courier partners, causing delays and inefficiencies.
- Limited inventory visibility — the business needed more accurate, actionable inventory reporting to support purchasing decisions, stock planning, and operations across a large catalog.
- Payment reconciliation gaps — payment gateway reports didn't include Shopify order references, making it difficult for finance teams to match payments to orders and reconcile transactions.
- Scalability for a large catalog — managing thousands of SKUs across categories, brands, and promotional campaigns demanded a robust, scalable platform.
Our approach
Platform first. We started with a full migration to Shopify, giving Fashion Bug a scalable, secure, and marketing-friendly foundation built for continued digital growth.
Automate the operational bottlenecks. With the platform in place, we focused on the manual processes causing the most friction — delivery coordination and payment reconciliation — and built integrations to remove them.
Build for visibility. Alongside the automation work, we developed custom reporting so the team could see stock levels, movement, and product performance in real time, supporting better day-to-day decisions across a large catalog.
What we built
Shopify migration and platform modernization — Shopify was implemented as the core e-commerce platform, replacing the legacy system with a scalable, secure foundation built for Fashion Bug's continued digital growth.
Automated delivery fulfillment with Karts Delivery — Karts Delivery was integrated with Shopify to automate the order fulfillment workflow. Orders now sync automatically with courier operations, reducing manual intervention and improving fulfillment speed.
Custom inventory reporting — a custom reporting solution gives the team real-time visibility into stock levels, inventory movement, and product performance across the catalog.
Payment reconciliation automation — using Karts Automation, we built a custom integration that maps Shopify order numbers to payment gateway transaction reports, enabling accurate, efficient financial reconciliation.
Backend automation — additional backend automation processes were introduced to reduce manual tasks, improve order processing accuracy, and support business growth without adding operational overhead.
Results
The new platform gives Fashion Bug a scalable Shopify foundation built for future growth, with stronger marketing readiness through Shopify's ecosystem. Delivery fulfillment and courier coordination are now automated, cutting manual processing and operational workload. Custom inventory reporting improved stock visibility for purchasing and planning, while payment reconciliation is now streamlined and accurate — giving finance a clear, automated link between Shopify orders and gateway transactions. Together, these changes have created a stronger digital commerce foundation for one of Sri Lanka's leading fashion retailers.

How Konekt Built Shirohana Flowers a Custom Shopify Platform with Vendor, Loyalty, and Delivery Automation
Shirohana Flowers needed more than a new storefront — a flower delivery business runs on multi-vendor coordination, strict preparation and cut-off times, and products that are only available in certain delivery areas. Konekt migrated Shirohana to Shopify and built the custom systems around it: automated vendor notifications, advanced order scheduling, location-based product availability, a custom bouquet builder, and integrations with Karts Loyalty and Karts Delivery.
