We Built AI Agents for Education — Here's Why It Matters

Konekt launches Kampus Sense, an AI agent builder that adds exam markers, revision tutors, and course summarisers to any LMS. No AI infrastructure required.

At Konekt, we've been building enterprise software for over eight years. We've seen plenty of technology trends come and go. AI is different — and we've been thinking carefully about where it actually delivers value versus where it adds noise.

Education is one place where we believe AI can make a genuine difference. Not in a vague, futuristic sense — but right now, in the day-to-day work that lecturers and students do inside a learning management system.

That's why we built Kampus Sense.

What Is Kampus Sense?

Kampus Sense is an AI agent builder for education, part of our Kampus edutech suite. It lets academic institutions build, configure, and deploy AI agents that work directly inside their existing LMS — no AI infrastructure required, no replacement of the tools your teams already use.

Think of it as a no-code platform where lecturers can set up AI that does real academic work: marking exam submissions against a rubric, tutoring students on course content 24/7, summarising lecture materials, and running mock exam sessions — all within the LMS environment your institution already operates.

Why We Built It This Way

The most common concern we hear from education institutions about AI isn't capability — it's control. Who sees student data? Can lecturers trust the output? What happens when a mark is wrong?

We designed Kampus Sense around these concerns from day one.

Student data never leaves your server. All AI execution happens inside your institution's own LMS plugin. Exam submissions, course files, and student records stay where they are. Kampus Sense only stores metadata — agent configurations and usage logs.

Humans stay in the loop. Exam marking runs through an approval queue. The AI evaluates against the rubric, but a lecturer reviews and approves results before students ever see them. Full override, edit, and audit trail included — built for accreditation and appeals.

You bring your own OpenAI key. There's no Konekt AI subscription layered on top. You connect your institution's OpenAI API key directly, with full cost visibility through a built-in usage dashboard.

What You Can Build

Sense ships with a catalogue of pre-built agent types purpose-built for educational workflows:

  • Exam Markers — rubric-based evaluation with staff review queues
  • Revision Tutors — 24/7 Q&A scoped to your uploaded course materials, not the open internet
  • Module Summarisers — on-demand summaries from lecture notes and reading lists
  • Mock Exam Engines — practice papers generated from your content
  • FAQ Bots — course-specific answers without burdening support staff
  • Custom Agents — for workflows unique to your institution

Each agent gets its own knowledge base. Upload the lecture notes, rubrics, and documents relevant to that agent — and updates go live immediately, no redeployment needed.

The Bigger Picture for Konekt

Kampus Sense is our clearest statement yet on how we think about AI in enterprise software.

We're not interested in bolting a chatbot onto a product and calling it AI. We're interested in building systems where AI handles well-defined tasks, humans retain control over decisions that matter, and institutions can operate AI confidently within their existing infrastructure and compliance requirements.

That's the model we'll continue to apply across our product suite — in Kampus, and beyond.
